A Trip To Space? Check Out RocketShip Tours

Want to experience a "Personal Journey To The Edge Of Space"? Then hop aboard the suborbital spacecraft ( built by Xcor Aerospace). The owner of RocketShip Tours Jules Klar...and Retired Colonel Richard Searfoss (the firm's pilot who has flown 3 missions for NASA for a total of 39 days in space), are working together along with Xcor Aerospace to provide the more adventourous traveler a quite affordable option to space travel than the one offered currently by their nearest competitor, Virgin Galactic. Per Wimmer, of extreme adventurer fame (tandom skydived over Mount Everest), has signed on as the first passenger.

Your travel ticket "To The Edge Of Space" is $95,000 (considerably less expensive then Virgin's $200,000 price tag). Here is what is offered for the price of a ticket according to Rocket Ship Tours Manager of Media Relations "RJ" Watters III:

1. Your trip is one(1) hour from start to finish.

2. You reach approximately 200,000 feet in altitude.

3. You will achieve weightlessness.

4. You are in space for roughly 5 minutes.

5. You will see the curvature of the Earth, the Grand Canyon, the U.S. pacific coastline as well as a good part of the United States of America.

6. Test flights begin in 2010 and actual flights in 2011.

7. The launch pad is located in Mojave, California.

8. Xcor Aerospace developed the engine that will be used and on October 1st, 2008 set a record for most flights of a rocket-powered aircraft in one day which was seven (7).
